UGILI-AMAI MULTIPURPOSE HALL PROJECT

Chairman of Ndokwa West Local
Government Area, Hon. Ifeanyi Osakwe, has called on rural Communities within
the Council and the state at large to take advantage of the SEEFOR-CDD/World
Bank Assisted Project to enhance the infrastructural development of their
areas.
Hon. Osakwe, who made the call at
Ugili-Amai in Ndokwa West Local Government Area during the Project Launch for
the execution of Ugili-Amai Multi-Purpose Hall, commended the State
Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa for the commitment to bring
development to the door-step of the people at the grassroots level by keying
into the SEEFOR Project.
Hon. Osakwe, represented on the
occasion by the Councilor representing Ward 10, Onicha-Ukwuani, Hon. Monday
Akpe congratulated the people of Ugili-Amai Community, especially the members
of the Community Project Management Committee for their ability to key into the
laudable initiative geared towards driving development in their area.
Earlier, the Hon. Commissioner for
Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Rev (Mrs.) Omatsola Williams,
represented by her Special Assistant, Hon. Henry Babine advised the Community
to follow the material abstract in the execution of the Project and
applauded the governor for his ingenuity in keying into the Project with a view
to putting more smiles on the faces of all Deltans in line with his ‘
Prosperity mantra’.
In a goodwill messages, the Project
Coordinator of the State Employment and Expenditure for Results (SEEFOR)
Project, Mr. Benson Ojoko, represented by Mrs. Atino Overedjor of the
Monitoring and Evaluation Department in the SEEFOR Office and the Project
Director of the Community-Driven Development Implementation Unit (CDDSIU) Mrs.
A. A Orubu, jointly stated that through the scheme, a number of youths and
Communities had been empowered thus, reducing unemployment, just as the Head of
Operations emphasized the need for all the stakeholders in the Community to
work as a team so as to realise their target in good time.
The duo thanked the World Bank and the European
Union for the grants and urged rural Communities to key into the Scheme, even
as they lauded the initiative of the state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for
the payment of the Delta State counterpart contribution towards the project.
Speaking in an interview, the Chairman,
Ugili-Amai Community Project Management Community Committee, Mr. Smart Okoye
and the Secretary, Mr. Adigwe Cletus said that they would use the funds to
achieve the essence it was meant for.
